Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman will attend the deployment of the Connecticut Army National Guard Aviation Battalion. The 1-169 General Support Aviation Battalion will serve in Kosovo providing medical evacuation, transportation, and fuel support.

The ceremony honors the men and women who have lost their lives while on the job.

Tuesday: Lt. Governor Wyman Attends Housing Groundbreaking in Hartford, Speaks at Military Send-Off Ceremony
Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman will join Connecticut Department of Housing Commissioner Evonne Klein at the Hands on Hartford groundbreaking ceremony. The Hands on Hartford community center is making renovations to bring supportive housing, meal service, job training, and other programs under one roof. The Housing Department invested $950,000 in the project.

Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman will attend the annual Connecticut Department of Labor Heroes for Hire Career Fair. This event is expected to attract around 1200 veterans and more than 90 Connecticut employers-and provides education, health, and other resources for veterans.

Monday: Lt. Governor Wyman Chairs Youth and Urban Violence Task Force
Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman will chair the first meeting of the Commission on Youth and Urban Violence. Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman created the task force in March 2015 to examine the risk factors of youth violence in Connecticut cities and develop violence prevention policy and program recommendations.

Lieutenant Governors Support National Guard
As debate continues in Washington D.C. regarding National Guard funding, state and territorial elected leaders stand with the National Guard. Twenty-five seconds-in-command (Lt. Governors and Secretaries of State) are writing the United States President and Congress to oppose proposed federal funding cuts to the National Guard, the only military force shared by the states and the federal government.

Lt. Governor Wyman Chairs First Meeting of Commission on Youth and Urban Violence
Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman chaired the first meeting of the Commission on Youth and Urban Violence. Created in March 2015 by Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman, the task force is charged with examining the causes and triggers of youth violence, and developing anti-violence policy responses and recommendations.
