  Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is once again inviting artists to enter their waterfowl artwork in Connecticut’s annual Migratory Bird Conservation (Duck) Stamp Art Contest.

• 7/12/2017 Sandy Hook Man Pronounced Dead After Boating Collision on Lake Zoar Tuesday Night

  A 52-year old Sandy Hook man was pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital Tuesday night after the vessel he was operating on Lake Zoar was struck by another vessel, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police.

  The DEEP Forestry Division has begun a timber harvest at Camp Columbia State Forest in Morris.

• 12/12/2017 The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Reminds Residents to Recycle Unwanted Electronic Devices this Holiday Season

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) reminds residents to drop off their unwanted computers, monitors, printers and televisions at a local collection center for recycling under DEEP’s Electronics Recycling Program.

• 12/6/2017 Kevin the Turkey Captured and Relocated

  On Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at approximately 1:30 pm Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police Officers at the request of Wethersfield Police safely captured Kevin the Turkey of Wethersfield in the vicinity of Jordan Lane and the Silas Deane Highway.

  Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) today announced that bundled, uncut lumber for building bluebird nest boxes is available at no charge to organized groups, such as schools, scouts, conservation commissions, and garden clubs, on a first come, first serve basis.

  Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) today announced it has updated the 2016-2020 Comprehensive Open Space Acquisition Strategy (Green Plan) which guides the state’s effort to meet its goal of conserving 21% of Connecticut’s land base as open space by year 2023.

  Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police today swore in two new police officers -- Officer Dakota Flis, 26, of East Haddam and Officer Vincent Mazzotta, 45, of Haddam.
